Boston Seafood Guide: Atlantic Fish Company on Newbury

During my month-long stay in Boston, I went all out indulging in seafood dishes that I’d been craving for ages—and let me tell you, I left with no regrets (and a full belly).

Of course, I couldn’t miss out on Boston’s iconic lobster and oysters. I pretty much hit up every well-known spot in town, to the point where I don’t think I’ll be dreaming about seafood anytime soon. Among all these culinary adventures, one place stood out as the perfect grand finale: Atlantic Fish Company, a gem recommended by locals for its top-notch food and vibes.

Atlantic Fish Company

📍 761 Boylston St, Boston, MA 02116

If someone asked me what I loved most about Boston, I wouldn’t even hesitate: Newbury Street. This buzzing hub of restaurants, cafés, and stylish boutiques is brimming with youthful energy. Honestly, it gave me major “Garosu-gil during its golden days” vibes. (Yes, I’m showing my age here, lol.)

After soaking in the lively scene on Newbury Street, I strolled just a block over to Atlantic Fish Company. And wow, thank goodness I made a reservation—it’s that popular.

First Impressions

The yellow storefront of the red-brick building was already a cheerful sight, standing out from afar. Spring flowers bloomed in front of the restaurant, teasing warmth even though Boston’s April weather was still out here trying to freeze me. Future me imagined coming back when it’s warmer, savoring a meal on their outdoor patio with a chilled glass of wine. Goals, right?

Stepping inside, the warm, upscale, yet cozy atmosphere instantly hit all the right notes. The space had everything—bar seating for a laid-back vibe, intimate tables for couples, and quieter areas for a more elegant dining experience. Thanks to our reservation, we scored a table in the quieter, more private section. Loved it. 🌟

Let’s Talk Food

Bread Alert 🚨: Let me just say, the bread here? Unreal. From the complimentary bread at the start to the side breads accompanying our dishes, it was hands-down the best bread I’ve had in a while. One bite, and I was yelling, “What is this sorcery?! This is amazing!” 🤩

Naturally, I had to order clam chowder, my ride-or-die starter. Pairing it with their magical bread was peak happiness. Creamy, comforting, and downright flawless.

Next up: oysters. We went with a six-piece variety, and oh, the freshness! Each slurp was briny perfection, elevated by their impeccable sauces. Chef’s kiss.

The Stars of the Show

Lobster Roll: Picture this: giant chunks of juicy lobster perched atop perfectly buttery, crispy-yet-soft bread. The bread alone was a masterpiece, but add in the lobster? Absolute magic. A 100-point dish, no contest. (P.S. I’m not a huge fan of fries, but my dining buddy said they were amazing, so let’s trust the fry connoisseur.)

Seafood Stew: This special of the day came highly recommended by our server, and it did not disappoint. Loaded with the freshest catch, it was a bowl of hearty, ocean-kissed goodness. Boston really knows how to let its seafood shine—just proves that great ingredients are everything.

Final Thoughts

From start to finish, Atlantic Fish Company nailed it. The food, the service, the ambiance—everything was on point. If you’re in Boston and hunting for a fail-proof seafood spot, do yourself a favor and head here. You’ll thank me later! 🌊🦞✨
