IZZA – A Must-Try Restaurant in Seongsu, Seoul! 🍕🍷
Whenever I make plans in Seoul, Seongsu-dong is always my go-to spot. Why? Because every time I visit, there’s a new, exciting restaurant waiting to be discovered.
For my last outing before heading back to the U.S., I wanted to try one of the hottest new spots in town.
At the time, IZZA wasn’t well-known yet, and it wasn’t located on Seongsu’s main street. I didn’t expect much, but it turned out to be one of my best dining experiences!
Finding IZZA – A Hidden Gem in Seongsu
📍 33, Gwangnaru-ro 4ga-gil, Seongdong-gu, Seoul
⏰ 12:00 PM – 10:00 PM (Break Time: 2:00 PM – 5:30 PM)
The walk to IZZA felt a little different from my usual Seongsu adventures.
Instead of trendy cafés and packed streets, I found myself wandering through a quiet residential area lined with kids’ academies and ordinary buildings. I double-checked my map several times, wondering if I was in the right place.
Then suddenly—a sleek, modern restaurant with floor-to-ceiling glass windows appeared.
This was IZZA, a newly opened spot that quickly became a reservation-only restaurant.
Starters – A Flavor Explosion!
💥 One bite in, and I knew I’d be coming back to IZZA.
✔️ The IZZA bread was crispy, nutty, and perfectly baked.
✔️ The whelk (Bitturi Sora) was chewy, buttery, and packed with flavor.
I wasn’t expecting the whelk to be so addictively delicious. Honestly, I could’ve skipped the main dishes and just ordered a whole plate of this! 😆
🔥 Must-order menu item! If you visit IZZA, this should be your first dish.
IZZA’s Famous Charcoal Pizza 🍕
✔️ The charcoal dough had a chewy, slightly smoky texture.
✔️ The ham was lightly salty, perfectly balancing the sweetness of the figs.
✔️ The hazelnut butter added a rich, nutty depth that made each bite more addictive.
Perfect with wine. 🍷 Now I understand why this pizza is so popular!
A Unique Pasta Dish 🍝
✔️ Strong truffle aroma – If you love truffle, you’ll love this!
✔️ Rich, cheesy, and creamy – A deep, indulgent flavor.
For truffle lovers, this dish is a must-try. Personally, truffle oil isn’t my favorite, so I found it a little overwhelming. But if you’re a fan of bold, earthy flavors, you’ll love this pasta.
Final Thoughts – Would I Go Back?
Seongsu has become a fast-changing foodie hotspot, with new restaurants opening and closing all the time.
Because of this, I rarely find a place that makes me say, “I HAVE to come back.”
But IZZA is different. It’s one of the few places I genuinely want to revisit.
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Ut elit tellus, luctus nec ullamcorper mattis, pulvinar dapibus leo.
✔️ Quiet location – Away from the crowded Seongsu streets.
✔️ Creative, unique dishes – Not your average Italian restaurant.
✔️ A memorable dining experience – Every dish felt special.
When I return to Korea this summer, IZZA is at the top of my must-visit list!
