Getting There

Most resorts in Pai, including Montis, are located slightly outside the town center, providing a secluded atmosphere. To make transportation easy, Montis offers shuttle services (or private van rides) to and from nearby locations. We took a shuttle from our previous stay at Puri Pai Villa, and the experience was smooth and hassle-free—another testament to the warm hospitality in Pai.

First Impressions

Stepping into Montis Resort feels like stepping into a beautifully maintained garden paradise. The grounds are immaculate, with lush greenery and pathways that evoke the feeling of walking through a private park. A golf cart took us from check-in to our room, and as we passed by the picturesque landscapes, I knew this was going to be a memorable stay.

A Room in the Heart of Nature

Our accommodation was in Building D, Room 07, a charming private villa surrounded by nature. The space was cozy yet luxurious, with every detail thoughtfully designed to create a sense of comfort. Outside, the sound of chirping birds and rustling leaves was the perfect soundtrack for relaxation.

One of the best parts? The feeling of absolute privacy. With only a few guests staying at the resort, it felt like we had the entire place to ourselves.

The Pool: A Private Paradise

Let me rave about the pool for a moment. Montis Resort’s pool is beautifully designed, surrounded by greenery, and best of all—almost always empty. It felt like our own private oasis. Sure, the staff at the front desk could probably see us enjoying our swims, but who cares? The peace and quiet made it worth every second.

At Montis, time seemed to stand still. Without a schedule to follow, we spent hours swimming, lounging, and soaking in the beauty of our surroundings. No wonder this became one of my favorite moments of the entire trip.

Nature Walks and Morning Bliss

The grounds of Montis are made for wandering. A large pond in the center is surrounded by well-manicured pathways, perfect for a peaceful stroll. Walking along these trails, with nothing but the sound of crickets and rustling leaves, felt like nature meditation.

Even the walk to breakfast each morning was an experience in itself. The lush greenery and fresh air made me look forward to the short journey to the restaurant—a lovely way to start the day.

Breakfast: Simple but Satisfying

The breakfast at Montis was not a buffet, but a personalized selection of dishes. While I usually prefer the variety of a buffet, the quality of the food and the charming atmosphere more than made up for it. Each morning, I enjoyed a leisurely meal accompanied by fresh fruit, yogurt, and juice.

The best part of breakfast wasn’t the food, though—it was the path leading to it. With every bite, I couldn’t help but appreciate the tranquility of this beautiful setting.

A Day at Montis: Relax, Explore, Repeat

Our days at Montis followed a dreamy rhythm: swimming, lounging, taking photos, and exploring the surrounding area on a scooter. Evenings were spent wandering the local night market in Pai, picking up delicious street food like Pad Thai, and indulging in a relaxing massage before returning to the resort.

One night, we ended our day with Thai street food back at Montis while binge-watching The Good Wife—the perfect way to wind down. That Pad Thai? Still one of the best meals I’ve ever had, and it came from a humble street vendor!

Final Thoughts on Montis Resort

Montis Resort isn’t just a place to stay—it’s an experience. From the peaceful natural surroundings to the luxurious amenities, every moment here feels like a step into paradise.

If you’re visiting Pai and looking for an accommodation that offers both comfort and connection with nature, I can’t recommend Montis Resort enough. It was the highlight of my trip, and I know it will be for yours too.
