Room Service Bliss at The Rescape
During my recent trip to Miyakojima, I committed to a simple mantra: eat, relax, and enjoy. And boy, did I stick to it! Whether it was venturing out for some adventure or simply lounging at the resort, every moment felt like pure healing time. 🛋️✨
But what truly elevated this experience was the incredible room service at The Rescape.
Room Service Dreams Come True
As a self-proclaimed room service connoisseur (okay, just someone who loves eating in their hotel room), I was super curious about The Rescape’s offerings. Could it live up to my high expectations? Spoiler alert: It exceeded them!
With its secluded location surrounded by lush nature, The Rescape is the perfect place to unwind. But, it also means you won’t find convenience stores or restaurants nearby. The nearest eatery? A 10-minute drive away.
No need to worry, though—their room service menu has you covered with quality over quantity and delivers straight-up deliciousness.
First Night: Fruit Platter and Pizza 🍕🍓
After checking in, I realized I had a night jungle tour scheduled in a few hours. There wasn’t enough time to head out or visit the hotel restaurant, so room service it was! The menu wasn’t extensive, but every item was tempting.
I decided to keep it light with a fresh fruit platter and a wood-fired pizza.
The Fruit Platter: Okinawan fruits never disappoint, and this was no exception! Each bite was bursting with flavor and sweetness, a true energy booster after a long day. 🍍🍉
The Pizza: Crisp, light, and oh-so-delicious, it was healthy yet satisfying. I devoured the entire thing and ordered it again the next day because, why not? 😄
The Star: Shabu-Shabu Full Course 🍲🐄
If there’s one item you must try at The Rescape, it’s the shabu-shabu. This dish requires a reservation, and I wisely booked it during check-in. Trust me—it’s worth the forethought.
When the time came, the staff arrived at my villa with everything needed for a full shabu-shabu setup, complete with a detailed explanation of the ingredients and how to enjoy them. They even set it up so I could eat while admiring the gorgeous view outside.
The Ingredients:
Meat Heaven: Okinawan wagyu and pork belly (because why not both?).
Fresh Seafood: Shrimp, squid, and fish—all impeccably fresh.
Crisp Vegetables: Perfectly prepared and cleanly trimmed.
Special Touches: Handmade fish cakes, silky tofu, and noodles to finish it all off.
A unique addition was a small bowl of miso paste, which you could use as a dipping sauce, mix into the soup, or pair with the noodles. And for spice lovers? A fiery chili sauce that packed a serious punch. 🌶️ (Proceed with caution—it’s potent!)
The Perfect Shabu-Shabu Ritual
Start with the vegetables to build a clean, flavorful broth. 🥬
Add the seafood for a delicate, ocean-fresh taste. 🦐
Finish with the wagyu and pork for a melt-in-your-mouth finale. 🥩
Every bite was perfection, but adding a dash of the spicy sauce elevated it to another level. Paired with an ice-cold Orion Beer? Absolute bliss. 🍺
Why You Shouldn’t Miss It
If you’re staying at The Rescape, room service is a must-try, especially the shabu-shabu. From the quality of the food to the thoughtful presentation and service, everything is top-notch.
It’s more than just a meal—it’s an experience that adds a layer of comfort and luxury to your stay. Whether you’re refueling after an adventure or indulging in a quiet evening in, room service at The Rescape is unforgettable. 🌟
Highly recommended: Shabu-shabu and Orion Beer. Cheers to relaxation! 🍻
